Bruce W. Papps, CFA Papps Capital Group was launched on Wall Street in 1996 from the culmination of decades of industry experience and prestigious academic achievement. Mr. Papps focuses the firm’s talents and skills through Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT) and other state-of-the-art money management techniques involving portfolio management and financial planning for the high net worth individual. After graduating in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Mr. Papps joined Merrill Lynch, where he designed and managed portfolios. Mr. Papps was honored with membership into Merrill’s, "President's Club", for outstanding professional accomplishment. He lectures across the country and is currently working on a new book. Mr. Papps maintains cutting edge competency through continuous study and coursework at Harvard University, The University of Chicago, The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), and other rigorous and recognized academic institutions. Recognized as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Mr. Papps is engaged in the acquisition and application of cutting-edge financial and economic techniques, concepts and strategies. He serves on the adjunct faculty as Professor at SUNY/WCC and serves at the special request of College President Dr. Joseph Hankin on The Advisory Board for International Business at SUNY/WCC. Mr. Papps is Vice President of The Wharton Club; Charter Member of The University of Pennsylvania's "Penn Club"; and member of The New York Society of Securities Analysts' International Committee. He is recognized by The Marquis' Who's Who Publication Board as belonging to the current editions of; 'Who's Who in Finance & Industry, '...In America', and '... In the World' The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation This designation is reserved for a select group of professionals and it is a standard for knowledge, integrity, and professionalism. The CFA charter requires an understanding of a disperse range of investment matters and then the candidates must demonstrate the application of this knowledge by passing three levels of rigorous examinations. This body of knowledge is designed to keep pace with the ever-changing dynamics of the global marketplace. On average, candidates spend 240 hours preparing for each of the three levels of tests, and still as many as half these candidates fail each year. Those that pass and move to the next higher level compete with many of the almost half who failed the prior year again retaking the exam. Successful completion of the CFA Program is thus a very formidable challenge for even the most successful investment professional.
